OUR RELIEF MISSION
Disaster happens in our times. We do not know when or why but we know that a natural or man made disaster puts us all in a time of stress.  When Disasters happen our Alamo RCD Board of Directors strive to assist the rural communities that we serve around the San Antonio area with relief from that stress. We know that we cannot solve all the problems created by hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires and Virus Pandemics but we also know that every little
bit of help is a step toward recovery.

HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF PROGRAM  of 2017-18
When the community was in need...
Alamo RCD was THERE!!
In 2017-18, Alamo RCD provided over $60,000 in ASSISTANCE for DISPLACED families who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey within one of the FEMA designated Disaster Relief Counties and are now living in the rural counties of Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina and Wilson Counties around San Antonio,Texas
 (excluding Bexar County)

Alamo RCD is a volunteer organization that is here to help those in need within the San Antonio Area. In 2017-18, after the Hurricane Harvey Crisis,  Alamo RCD was the recipient of a generous donation that allowed us to assist "displaced" families as stated above.

OVER 100 impacted individuals within Displaced Families were provided with direct one-on-one assistance in the form of gift cards, food, clothing, rental, utilities, auto repair, and other assistance through our Disaster Relief Program

Applications were taken online and at our Relief Partner County Registration & Distribution Centers in various counties. We worked directly with agencies in Bandera, Kendall, Wilson, Comal, Atascosa, Guadalupe and Medina Counties.

We were able to take applications on line, meet one-on-one with individuals and families in need. We provided immediate relief consultations toward other community assistance available.  Our Review Committee determined the extent of assistance provided from us in the form of Gift Cards such as Visa Cards.  Amounts and types of assistance depended on need and our funding capacity. The assistance was then provided directly to each family/individual in each county around San Antonio at a Relief Partner Distribution Center after all applications were reviewed and approved. We made their lives better with the gift of direct assistance, community wide connections and HOPE!

Alamo RCD comes to the AID
of our folks in need in a
